Kurt Heath: (Preaching Pastor)
Kurt Heath was raised in a Christian home and was converted his freshman year of high school. Following his graduation from Wheaton College in 1999, he worked for a start-up company in Seattle for a year before moving to Washington, DC. There he worked for a communications firm before landing as a press secretary in Congress. Shortly after moving to DC and marrying Jayna, his Seattle sweetheart, Kurt increasingly felt pulled toward pastoral ministry. The last five years, he has been moving toward that end, first as a pastoral intern at Capitol Hill Baptist Church and then as a staff member there. He was called to be Third’s preaching pastor in September of 2007, and has been serving in that role since November. Kurt and Jayna love movies, bluegrass music, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. They have a daughter Madeline (3) and a son Jack (1).

Keith Goad
Keith Goad:
Keith is from the Carolinas, Marberry originally. He was raised in a Baptist church by two godly parents, but was not converted until his freshman year of college. He then decided to go to Liberty University because he saw them playing basketball on TV and said, “Okay Lord, if they win, I am going.” He grew in the Lord there because professors took him under their wings and discipled him. Best of all, he convinced the prettiest and godliest girl there to marry him (needing an extra year of studies for persuasion). Keith and Lisa were married on June 1, 2002 and have been members of Third Avenue since January 2003. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Systematic Theology praying for guidance of how he can serve the local church and Christ’s Kingdom.

B.Keisling
Bruce Keisling:
Bruce has a varied denominational lineage. His father’s family has roots in the exclusive Plymouth Brethren. His mother grew up as a 10th generation Mennonite. Bruce himself has educational degrees from a Baptist liberal arts college and a Catholic university. For several years he worked at an Episcopal seminary and now serves as librarian for The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. After Bruce and his wife moved to Louisville, they looked for a church near their home in Old Louisville. They hoped to find a church where they could serve and encourage Biblical preaching and church life. They joined 3ABC in 1999 and have been encouraged by God’s goodness in sustaining and developing the work in this place. The Keislings have three young children who are the source of much joy and many questions. When he isn’t being jumped on by his progeny, Bruce enjoys reading on an assortment of subjects and aspires to have a farm at his urban home.

Brad Wheeler
Brad Wheeler
Brad grew up a Unitarian, as many good children do in New England. After moving to California, he was converted though the ministry of his (now) wife Erin, and emerging church pastor/writer Dan Kimball. Upon graduating from Princeton University, he spent of number of years in investment consulting before pursuing a call to pastoral ministry. Along the way he theologically found a home with Southern Baptists, much to the confusion and consternation of his family. He now works for Merrill Lynch as he completes his M.Div at Southern Seminary in the hopes of pastoring one day. He and Erin love to exercise and travel, and have four wonderful (and busy!) children: Page, Maggie, William and Elizabeth.
