Ministry
God has given each Christian gifts so that they can minister to others. Our desire at Third Avenue is to equip the saints in such a way that they will be free to serve according to the measure of faith given them by God (Eph 4.12; Rom 12.6). This means there is no strict ladder of authority that we must climb. Rather, we are made up of a priesthood of believers (1 Peter 2.5,9) who are sent out to love, exhort, and minister to people.
In adddition to our corporate times of worship on Sunday, we have areas of specific ministry that people have felt the need to serve. Since we are less than a block away from the University of Louisville, we feel a special burden to share the Good News with college students. Since we are convinced that we can do nothing apart from Christ, we meet as small gatherings for prayer – for our church, community, nation, and world.
